Informational Poster Series: The Coral Triangle
The Coral Triangle is a marine area located in the western Pacific Ocean that encompasses the waters of Malaysia, the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Timor Leste, and the Solomon Islands. Coral Reefs in this location are quickly declining due to human impact, affecting the marine ecosystem and ultimately people. This poster series introduces the scope of the problem and aims to give a better understanding of how coral degradation occurs. In summary, ecosystems within the Triangle have broken down due to overfishing and coral bleaching, which is brought on by pollution and rising ocean temperatures.
